Commonly known as 10-acre Park, the park is now open from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily

O‘AHU – Following support from the Mililani community, and Neighborhood Board No. 25, Kaoma‘aikū Neighborhood Park is now open daily from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Previously the park was closed from dusk to dawn, but after robust discussion amongst the Mililani community, facilitated by the Mililani-Waipi‘o-Melemanu Neighborhood Board No. 25, the park hours are now consistent with the majority of City parks managed by the City and County of Honolulu’s Department of Parks and Recreation.
“Extending park hours at Kaoma‘aikū Neighborhood Park isn’t just about a schedule change; it’s about Mililani’s quality of life,” said Danielle Bass, Chair of Neighborhood Board No. 25. “For residents who endure long commutes this update opens up a safe, accessible space to unwind, connect, and pursue their passions in hockey, inline skating, and roller skating—even after a long day. This change reinforces our community’s commitment to a healthier, more connected Mililani, creating a vibrant space where every resident can stay active, unwind, and feel at home.”
Located on Maka‘unulau Street in Mililani, this 12.38-acre park also saw community-inspired improvements in 2023 following testimony from keiki and parents with Hawai‘i Inline Hockey Incorporated at a Mayoral Townhall Meeting. Following that input, City crews power washed the rink and repainted the court lines. By that summer, the rink was improved and reopened, with the park’s hockey teams later scoring gold and silver during a regional tournament in California.
