As high school graduations begin, although COVID-19 restrictions have been eased, the state Department of Education is asking participants to be mindful of precautions. Moanalua High School class of ’21 seniors observed social-distancing during graduation ceremonies at Aloha Stadium.

High school graduation season in Hawaii is just a few weeks away, with Mililani High School leading the way for state Department of Education schools. Mililani’s commencement is set for May 16 at the Stan Sheriff Center on the University of Hawaii’s Manoa campus.

While no health and safety restrictions are planned for this year’s ceremonies, the DOE asks attendees “to be mindful of COVID-19 precautions and to stay home if they feel sick, have symptoms of illness, or have tested positive for COVID-19 within the past five days,” according to a news release.

Schools will share logistical details with parents and guardians. This list is based on the latest information. Updates may be found at hawaiipublicschools.org, the DOE website. For more, families should contact their child’s school directly.
